Pho 1 Grill was born out of the belief that Richmond deserved an all-in-one Vietnamese experience. There were
many Vietnamese restaurants in Richmond, but there wasn’t one that combined authentic cuisine, beautiful
décor, and superior service – not one to the standards Richmonders expect.

With that in mind, Paul and Ellen Tran, drawing upon their prior entrepreneurial experience, set about opening a
Vietnamese restaurant in Short Pump. Thanks to incredible help and input from their sons, family, and friends, Pho 1 Grill
opened its doors on June 10, 2013. Its mission was to prepare delicious food while always putting the customer first –
every person should be treated like a longtime friend.
These days, Pho 1 Grill is a successful family-owned and operated business with a loyal following. Paul and Ellen are very
proud of their restaurant and are happy to share their story.
